Almost 24 Hours Before Departure

We’re less than twenty four hours away from hitting the road. The kind of countdown that doesn’t tick loudly, but sits heavy in the chest.

After checking the weather maps one last time, we had a choice to make. Two possible beginnings for this long urbex journey.

North, toward the Great Lakes, chasing rain, storms, and low skies. Or south, toward Albany and New York State, where the light still breaks through.

We chose clarity. We chose to start where the skies are open. Day One is not for chasing storms.

Don’t get it twisted though. Chicago. Detroit. Milwaukee. Gary. They’re not skipped. They’re waiting.

We’ll reach the Midwest in a few days, with better light, better temperatures, and better conditions for full scale exploration.

Thousands of locations are already pinned across the map. Places time tried to erase quietly. Places we’re about to bring back into the light.

This journey isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s for those who feel the pull of abandoned things. For those who want to remember what’s been left behind.
