The Journey Almost Didn’t Start

The Journey Almost Didn’t Start

Today was supposed to begin at noon. Bags were packed. Maps ready. Spirits high.

But a single missing piece nearly delayed everything: a rental car.

We tried Enterprise. Then every other rental company we could think of.

One by one, the answer was the same: No credit card. No car.

It didn’t matter that we had money. It didn’t matter that we had proof of address, valid IDs, or full insurance.

No credit card. No exceptions.

After hours of failed attempts and calls that led nowhere, we finally turned to Turo — the last-minute savior.

Just a debit card. No hassle. And within minutes, we had our ride.

What almost stopped the journey
ended up accelerating it.

So instead of hitting the road at noon, we left at 10:30 a.m.

Ahead of schedule. Full of adrenaline.

Barely two minutes to clear the U.S. border. Smoothest crossing ever.

And just like that, we were on our way — straight to Frontier Town, a forgotten Western theme park hidden deep in the woods of the Catskills.

Next stops: Albany. Amsterdam.
